Children grow fast, and the closet fills up with clothes that no longer fit. Many are almost new. On Rekid you can sell them or pass them on to other parents. Listing is free and takes a few minutes on your phone. Here is how to sell faster.
Good photos, in daylight
The first photo is what buyers see in the list. It decides whether anyone opens your listing.
- Take photos during the day, near a window. Daylight shows the true colors.
- Lay the garment flat on a plain background: a light sheet, the floor or the bed.
- Take a photo of the size label, and one close-up of the fabric.
- If there is a stain or a hole, photograph it. The buyer will see it anyway when you meet, and will thank you for saying so up front.
- Do not show children's faces: photograph only the clothes, without the child. When you upload photos, the location where they were taken is removed too.
The right size and condition
- Choose the size on the label. If the label says 62/68, choose both sizes.
- Choose the condition honestly: “New with tags”, “Like new”, “Very good”, “Good” or “With defects”. For “With defects”, say briefly what is wrong.
- Write a clear title: what it is, the brand and the size. For example: “Reima winter jacket, 98”.
- In the description, say what matters to a parent: the season, the fabric, how much it was worn.
An accurate listing means fewer questions and more decided buyers.
The price
Look at similar listings in the same category and size. When Rekid has enough similar listings, you will also see their usual prices when you publish. It is only a help: you choose the price.
- Everyday clothes sell quickly at a low price.
- Jackets, winter snowsuits and branded shoes hold their price better.
- Buyers can offer you a different price, and you decide whether to accept.
- You can also give things away for free. Then you choose who gets them.
Small clothes sell better as a bundle
Bodysuits, sleepsuits and hats from the first months are hard to sell one by one. Put them together in a bundle: several items in one listing, at one price. For example: “Bundle of 10 bodysuits, size 62–68, 150 lei”. Say how many items there are and which sizes. There is more in What a bundle is and when it is worth it.
Reply quickly
Buyers usually message several sellers at once. Whoever replies first has the best chance to sell.
- Messages arrive on Rekid, under “Messages”. Your phone number stays hidden unless you send it yourself.
- Connect Telegram in your notification settings. Messages then reach you there, and you can reply straight from Telegram without opening the site.
- Turn on notifications on your phone, so you know at once when someone writes.
- Once you have agreed, mark the listing as reserved. Others will see the item is already promised.
If you have added your child in your profile, Rekid reminds you when your child moves up a size. That is a good moment to list the clothes that no longer fit.
Extend your listing
A listing stays up for 30 days. Three days before it expires, Rekid asks whether the item is still for sale. If it is, tap “Extend” and the listing stays. That way buyers only see things that are really for sale.
Once you have handed the item over, mark the listing as sold. Nobody will ask about it anymore, and the buyer can leave you a review.
Handing over, safely
- Meet during the day, somewhere busy.
- The buyer pays on pickup, with the item in hand.
- Never share your card details or codes from SMS messages. Rekid never asks for payments and never sends payment links.
- If you send the item by courier or mail, the buyer pays for the transport.
