What a bundle is and when it is worth it

On Rekid you will sometimes see listings with a “Bundle” badge. A bundle is several items sold together, in one listing, at one price. For example: “Bundle of 12 bodysuits, size 56–62, 150 lei”. Local parents often call it a “lot” (“lot” in Romanian, “лот” in Russian).

Why bundles exist

Clothes from the first months are worn very little. A baby can go through three sizes in the first four months. In the end, parents are left with dozens of bodysuits, sleepsuits and hats that are almost new. Selling them one by one, at 20 lei each, is a lot of work: dozens of photos, dozens of messages, dozens of meetings. A bundle solves it in one go: one listing, one conversation, one meeting.

When a bundle is worth it

For sellers:

• baby clothes, especially up to one year;
• small, cheap things that are not worth a meeting on their own: socks, hats, bodysuits, pajamas;
• toys of the same kind: toy cars, blocks, figures;
• children's books for the same age.

For buyers:

• when you need many things at once, for example before the birth or when your child moves up a size;
• when you want a low price per item;
• when you have no time to look for each item separately.

More expensive items, such as a winter jacket, a snowsuit or a good pair of boots, sell better on their own. Buyers look for them specifically, by size and brand.

How to describe a bundle

When you publish a listing on Rekid, check “This is a bundle” and say how many items are in it. Then:

• Say what the items are. For example: “5 bodysuits, 3 pairs of pants, 2 tops, 2 hats”.
• Choose the size range. If the bundle has items in sizes 56, 62 and 68, choose 56 to 68.
• Choose the condition of the most worn item. If one bodysuit has a stain, the bundle's condition is that bodysuit's condition. Say in the description which item has the defect.
• Take a photo of all the items laid out, then closer photos and photos of the labels.
• Give the season, and whether the clothes are for a boy, a girl or either.

A well-described bundle does not need dozens of questions. The buyer knows exactly what they are getting, and you sell faster. There are more selling tips in How to sell outgrown children's clothes fast.

How to price a bundle

A bundle sells quickly when the price per item is low. Think about what you would ask for each item and take a little off the total: the buyer takes everything at once, and you clear it all in a single meeting. Look at similar bundles too, in the same category and sizes.

If the bundle includes a few better items, such as a winter snowsuit, say so in the title: “Bundle of 15 items, 62–68, with a winter snowsuit”. Do not hide stained or torn items in a bundle. An unhappy buyer will not buy from you a second time.

What to ask before you buy a bundle

• What exactly is in the bundle, and what size is each item?
• Are there stains, holes or broken zippers? On which items?
• Have they been washed? Do they smell of smoke or pets?
• Can you take only part of the bundle? The seller decides; they do not have to split it.
• What is the price for the whole bundle, and is it negotiable?

A bundle, or several listings from one seller

A bundle is a single listing, put together by the seller. Sometimes you will like several separate listings from the same seller. You can ask for all of them in one conversation and offer one price for everything. It is still an agreement between the two of you, paid on pickup.
